There’s an old saying: ‘’Fortune favors the bold”.
It makes sense if you think about it. When you’re bold enough to voice your wishes and back them up with actions that align with your goals, its almost inevitable that sonner or later, you will get there.
But boldness isn’t superficial. I’m taking about the kind of rooted courage we build within ourselves — cultivated through acts of self-devotion and discipline. It’s not enough to simply be loud and its certainly not about being noisy or entitled. True boldness is about knowing your worth and confidently putting forward what you have to offer.
When we do things that make usa little afraid but a lot excited, we open the door to new opportunities for connection and growth. It might be something small — like publishing a personal note or striking up a conversation with a stranger on the train. Or it might a subjectively bigger leap of courage, like giving a talk in front of a crowd or pitching your idea.
What happens if you get rejected? Nothing. You are in the exact same place before you asked or made the leap. But on the other side of equation — anything can happen. It’s hardly even a risk, yet its always worth taking that leap of courage.
I have adopted this attitude, and honestly, I can’t remember a single time I took a leap and regretted it. Every time, it has made me wiser, more connected, opened new doors, and reinforced the realization that rejection is really not a big deal.
About a year ago, I gave a talk once on the idea of ‘Rejection Therapy’ to a crowd of approximately 200 people. Even today, the impact still lingers — I hear people mention the concept to help them find the courage to connect, make a request, or simply create fun memories while strengthening their character.
Being bold is an attitude you choose and cultivate — and it’s never a one-time decision. You have to keep choosing it, because life will always present new kinds of courage to practice. Maybe you once struggled with cold calls, but after doing ten or so, you get used to it. That doesn’t automatically mean you’ll feel confident walking up to someone you like in public, or pitching to a table of esteemed investors. Boldness comes in many forms. But as long as you maintain the mindset that the universe rewards the bold, and let that guide you in your decisions, success will follow.
